How to Use
The directions should be followed before using this medicine provided by the doctor. We have provided a patient information leaflet with this medicine that should be read carefully. This medicine is taken by mouth as needed before sexual activity and as directed by the doctor. This medicine should not be taken if anyone is taking or using any form of nitroglycerin, other nitrates such as isosorbide, nitroprusside or any "nitric oxide donor" medicine, or recreational drugs called "poppers" containing amyl or butyl nitrate because very serious interactions may occur.
Dosage
This medicine should not be taken more often than once daily. If an individual taking certain other medicines, he may only be able to take this medicine one time, every two or three days. A doctor or pharmacist must be contacted for more information. This medicine may be taken on an empty stomach or with food.
Probable Side Effects
Side effects that may occur while taking this medicine include headache, flushing, stomach upset or nausea, heartburn, stuffy or runny nose, back pain, muscle pain. There may occur vision changes such as trouble telling the difference between blue and green or seeing a blue tinge to objects. In case an individual has a painful or prolonged erection (lasting more than 4 hours), use of this medicine must be stopped and immediate medical attention should be sought or permanent problems may occur.
There may occur allergic reactions to this medicine that is unlikely but immediate medical attention is required if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, unusual swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing.
Precautions
- This medicine should not be used if a patient has an allergic reaction to any ingredient in this product.
- This medicine may rarely cause dizziness or vision changes.
- Driving or machine operation could be dangerous after using this machine.
- Using this medicine alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen the individual's ability ability to drive.
- Excessive amounts of alcohol must be avoided when using this medicine.
- Recommended dose must not be exceeded
- In case of heart problems while having sex, sexual activity must be stopped and a doctor must be consulted immediately.
- This medicine should not be used in women or children.
Drug Interactions
In case of this medicine, drug interactions can result in unwanted side effects or can prevent medicine from doing its job.
